So, what does choosing yourself first really mean?  Choosing yourself first is very important and is so very necessary when it comes to self-care.  Believing that you're worthy and absolutely entitled to put yourself first requires a shift in mindset that's often been ingrained in us to put others' needs before our own.  We often sacrifice our own needs, passions, and desires for others automatically because of the love we have for our children, significant others, spouses, or friends.  Now love is a beautiful thing, but love and commitment are not just for other people.  It's for you too!   Putting yourself first does not mean you are taking care of yourself instead of others. It means putting yourself in the top spot of self-care which is actually beneficial to others because it helps you show up as a better, rested healthier version of yourself.

But what is Self-Care?   While self-care meanings can be subjective and mean different things to different people, I believe that self-care can be summed up in the simplest terms as conscious and deliberate activities and actions that a person takes on their own behalf to promote wellness for their own mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing. To achieve optimal wellness, you must apply a consistent routine of self-care practices to every possible element of your being.  Those elements are mind, body, soul, and spirit.   In order to live a higher quality life, maintaining optimal wellness is key. The foundation of that is self-care.  Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being. Self-care directly affects our actions, reactions, and emotions.  Achieving optimal wellness helps subdue stress, foster more positive moments, and reduce illness. Achieving your full potential and living a happy life filled with passion and purpose are rooted in self-care and self-love.  ou opened a new location, redesigned your shop, or added a new product or service?
